I see my mom in butterflies
and my dad in dragons
My mom flutters by with energy and love
beckoning me forth, delighting my heart when I'm down
My dad is full of wisdom, strength, and fire
fiercely loyal, defender of the hearth
And I am their dragonfly
wings of rainbows in the light
joyful, holy, and full of life
My parents flow through me in my blood
in my steps, my strong heart, wise soul
They walk with me and have delivered me to
this perfect present moment
in sacrifice and love
How could I ever turn away?
How could I ever be alone with them in the sky,
by the sunflowers and purple thistles?
